A visit to Florida is incomplete without a visit to the Kennedy Space Centre at Cape Canaveral on the East Coast of Florida.
The visitor complex, is home to a number of museums, two IMAX theatres and various bus tours allowing visitors a closer look at various restricted areas that would otherwise not be possible.
Included in the base admission price is transportation into the restricted area of the site to an observation gantry on the grounds of Launch Complex 39, and to the Apollo-Saturn V Center which houses the massive Apollo-era Saturn V launch vehicle.
For a small additional fee you can take separate transportation to other restricted areas of the Space Centre such as within ½ mile of the Space Shuttle launch pad and the largest runway in the US where the Shuttle lands at the end of each mission.
If you are really luck and your trip coincides with a Shuttle or Rocket Launch, then this is an event not to be missed and you can register on Nasa's website for special viewing gallery tickets, or head over early and bag a spot along the many road-side stops overlooking the complex.
